Simple materials, premium finish
What immediately stands out is how much the packaging achieves with relatively little. The natural brown board provides an understated backdrop, while the fine gold foil lines introduce a premium finish without overpowering the design.
The predominantly black imagery works beautifully against the uncoated surface. There’s very little colour and no unnecessary decoration — just a carefully considered combination of material, print and foil that feels unmistakably premium.

Packaging that's part of the experience
Open the box and the same attention to detail continues. The moulded fibre insert protects and presents the product, while even the practical details have been carefully considered.
A simple pull cord makes it easy to lift the inner box from the packaging — a small detail, but a great example of designing with the customer in mind. Rather than leaving you to struggle to remove a tightly fitted component, the solution is built into the packaging itself.
It’s this kind of forward thinking that elevates the whole unboxing experience. The structure, materials and small functional details all work together, making the packaging feel considered rather than simply a means of getting the product safely from A to B.
Detail without over-designing
This is where the simplicity of the design really works. A single word, a carefully positioned cut-out and a continuation of the fine gold foil lines are enough to give the inner packaging its own character.
Nothing feels added simply for decoration. The print, finishing and structure complement one another, creating packaging that feels refined and confident without needing to shout.

Why it works
The Velvetiser packaging is a great example of how good packaging design isn't necessarily about using more. A limited palette, tactile materials, restrained print and carefully chosen finishing techniques can create something that feels far more premium than the sum of its parts. For us, it's a great piece of print and packaging worth taking a closer look at.
